<p><strong>How big is it?:</strong><br/>2.8 million square km.</p>
<p><strong>Geographical Situation</strong>: <br/>It is bounded to the east by the Atlantic Ocean, Uruguay and Brazil, in the west by Chile, and in the north and northeast by Bolivia and Paraguay. </p>
<p><strong>Regions:<br/></strong>Pampa: vast fertile plain covering about one quarter of the country. Northeast: the warm, moist plains of the Chaco and an area between the Parana and Uruguay rivers called Mesopotamia. Northwest: Andean highlands, including Cuyo and Pampean Sierras. <br/>Patagonia: semiarid plateau.</p>
<p><strong>Climate:Mostly temperate;</strong> great variations because of latitudinal extension and varying altitudes. Extreme heat in the Chaco region; mild climate in the central pampa; mild to cold in southern Patagonia. Seasons the reverse of those in the Northern Hemisphere.</p>
<p><strong>Population:</strong> 37'502.000, white 85%, mestizo, Indian, or other nonwhite groups 15%. </p>
<p><strong>Capital :</strong> The capital is Buenos Aires with an approximate population of 12 million.</p>
<p><strong>Language and Religion</strong>:<br/>Spanish is the predominant and official language.<br/>The main religion is the Catholic 90%.</p>
<p><strong>Other religions:</strong> Protestant 2%, Jewish 2%, other 6%.</p>
<p><br/><strong>Currency:</strong> 1 peso = 100 centavos.</p>
<p><strong>Entry Requirements:</strong> A valid passport is required by all visitors except nationals of Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. As a general rule, a return ticket is also required.</p>
<p><strong>Time:</strong> GMT - 3. Note that while Buenos Aires observes daylight saving many other provinces do not.</p>
