OVERVIEW

DRIVING

Midway Airport is about 10 miles southwest of Chicago's Loop.

Passenger pick-up: Drivers picking up passengers can park for free and wait for up to an hour at the cell phone waiting lot at 61st Street and Cicero Avenue.

PARKING

Cheapest: Daily parking is $12 in the red and yellow airport economy lots and the new indoor parking garage at 55th and Laramie.

Most convenient: Daily parking in the terminal garage -- on floors 4, 5 and 6 -- is free for just 10 minutes, then $2 for up to 30 minutes and $4 for up to an hour. The daily rate is $25.

Parking help: Customer service and security personnel offer battery starts, escort service, key retrieval and directions in the parking lots and the parking garage. Call (773) 838-0756.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION

Train: Ride the CTA Orange Line train to Chicago's downtown Loop for $1.75. The trip should take about 30 minutes.

Shuttle: Take the Continental Airport Express to downtown for about $19. Trips to O'Hare are $13 with Coach USA Wisconsin and $16 on the Omega shuttle.

Cab: A ride to the Loop costs about $28.

RENTAL CARS

Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Thrifty serve Midway. Rental pickup and drop-off can be found on Level 2 of the Midway Airport Parking Garage.

GETTING AROUND THE AIRPORT

Baggage claim is on the lower level of the new terminal, as is the ground transportation.

For people who don't have accounts with those providers, Internet day passes are available for $6.95.
