Check-in

Travelers should check in at least two hours in advance for flights to or from the United States, one hour early for other international flights, and 30 minutes early for flights within Poland.

Frequent-flier program

LOT passengers who are members of the Miles & More program can earn points on Star Alliance partners: Air Canada, Air New Zealand, All Nippon Airways, Austrian Airlines Group (Austrian Airlines, Lauda Air, Tyrolean Airways), British Midland, Lufthansa, Scandinavian Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, United Airlines and Varig.

Miles also are redeemable on Adria Airways, Air Alps, Air China, Air Dolomiti, Air One, Cirrus Airlines, City-Air, Condor, Croatia Airlines, Czech Airlines, European Air Express, Eurowings, Hahn Air, Luxair, Qatar Airways, South African Airways and Spanair.

Carry-on policy

One item -- which cannot exceed 45 inches in overall dimensions or 13 pounds -- is allowed per passenger, along with a personal item such as a handbag, coat, umbrella or camera.

In-flight meal options

Special meals, including vegetarian, diet, kosher, Muslim and Hindu, must be ordered at least 24 hours in advance.

Unaccompanied children

Children ages 5-12 flying alone are eligible for accompaniment by LOT staff. Contact information for the adult dropping off the child and the adult meeting the child at the destination is required by the carrier. This service is free.

Pets

Pets may be taken for an extra fee as carry-on baggage (animals less than 22 pounds only) or as checked baggage in the cargo bay. A certificate from the pet's veterinarian -- indicating that the animal has received all required vaccinations between one month and one year before departure -- must be presented at the luggage check-in counter. Check with the consulate of the destination country for specific vaccination requirements.

Cool/useful amenities

LOT's "Fly and Rest" program gives business-class ticketholders a free night with breakfast at selected hotels in Krakow, Poznan, Gdansk and Wroclaw, Poland. It also provides free transportation to and from the airport as well as extra nights at special rates when booked and paid together with the airline ticket.

Passengers travelling with a baby to/from the US and Canada may order, at the time of booking, a cradle, which is installed on board the plane. Babies up to 6 months of age with the weight up to 22 pounds can use the cradle.
