Frequent-flier program
Midwest Airlines passengers can earn flights through the carrier's frequent flier program, which is allied with American Airlines, Air Jamaica, Frontier, Northwest and Virgin Atlantic.
Airport club/lounge
Passengers can gain admission to Midwest Airlines' Best Care Club at Milwaukee's General Mitchell Airport (Concourse D, near Gate 38) for either $250 per year or $35 for a one-day pass. A one-time $50 initiation fee also is charged.
Carry-on policy
One carry-on item that can fit in the overhead compartment or under a seat is allowed. In addition, some other items are allowed depending on storage space, such as a hard or soft briefcase, handbag, infant seat or fragile items.
In-flight meal options
This Milwaukee-based regional airline is best known for fresh-baked chocolate-chip cookies. Passengers also can buy deli-style breakfasts, lunches and dinners on flights.
Unaccompanied children
Children ages 5-11 are accepted as unaccompanied minors with a $40 fee each way; layovers cannot exceed one hour. The carrier reserves the right to refuse to board an unaccompanied minor if there's a âœsignificant chanceâ that the flight may be diverted to another airport, usually due to poor weather.
Pets
No pets -- except service animals -- are allowed in the cabin. (Service animals assisting their owners require proper documentation.) A $75 each-way charge applies to animals as checked baggage. Each pet must be in an approved carrier, which is available for sale through Midwest Express.
Also, all pets must have a veterinarian's certificate issued within 10 days of departure.
A new frequent flier program gives pets a free round-trip ticket for every three domestic round-trip flights they take with their owners.
