The Costa Romantica is the continuation of luxury cruising begun by her sister ship, the Costa Classica. Public areas are decorated in rare woods and Carrara marble, exquisitely appointed by the finest European artisans. The ship is adorned by original works of art, including sculptures, painting, murals, wall hangings, and handcrafted artisan furnishings. The Costa Romantica has 34 luxurious Italian-inspired suites, averaging 340 to 580 square feet, 10 of them with verandas, featuring all comforts and butler-style service. The over-sized staterooms average more than 200 square feet, and are considered among the largest of any ship.

Inside the ship, the Atrium - Marchera d'Argento Hall - stretches over ten decks.

The Teatro Osiris, Costa Mediterranea's main lounge, is three decks high and seats 1,170 guests. The main restaurant, Ristorante Degli Argentieri, is two decks high and seats altogether some 1,300 guests.

Among some of the activities and amenities include: two-level health and fitness center, Ischia Spa, four swimming pools, one featuring a retractable dome, five whirlpools, casino, ten themed bars, lounges and public areas for activities and entertainment, shopping area, wedding chapel, large facilities for children and youngsters, library, conference centre, cascading water slide.
