As you depart downtown Portland you will soon come into view of the mountains, waterfalls, and forests inside the famous Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. And while you travel to Bonneville Dam and Visitors center to view the salmon swimming up the fish ladder, and also view “Herman” the age-old sturgeon.

Bonneville Dam provides hydropower productions, fish and wildlife protection, recreation and navigation for the Portland area. Bonneville Dam has one of the largest public viewing facilities and you can take a self guided tour. After touring the facility, you will then travel to Multnomah Falls, the second highest year-round waterfall in the United States plummeting 620 feet to the river gorge floor, and is Oregon’s number one tourist destination. On this tour you will have the opportunity to visit the falls up close and witness all the sights and sounds that make this destination so popular.

As you make your way back to Portland you will stop at Crown Point Vista House, one of the best look out points in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area.
