in 1524, Granada enjoys the distinction of being the oldest colonial
city in the Americas. Granada is a romantic city of colourful colonial

Central Park, including the Pace of Culture on the west side of the
park. On the north end of the plaza along the right side, you’ll see a
stone portico with lions, the only surviving portion of the original
building burned by American filibuster William Walker.Near Granada, in the lake, we find Las Isletas, made of more than 350 island created when the Mombacho volcano exploded 20,000 years ago. We’ll explore the remains of the San Pablo island fortress, built in 1748. On the lake shore, we find the imposing Mombacho Volcano, with its thick cloud forest, cool climate, well- marked trails, biological station and incredible views of Granada and Las Isletas.
