Visit the Itacoatiaras of Ingá, the historical town of Areia and the famous city of Campina Grande, home to the world’s largest Saint John festivities.

The first stop is the mysterious Ingá to visit the Itacoatiaras, huge stones (the largest of their kind in the world) with mysterious engravings as yet undeciphered. Following, we’ll visit a museum that contains fossils of giant prehistoric animals including the giant sloth. Proceeding onward, we’ll reach the historical town of Areia, the home of Pedro Américo, the greatest Brazilian painter who lived in the imperial times. Visit the artist’s museum in the house where he was born.

Next, we’ll visit Teatro Minerva, the first theatre in Paraíba The Forum, built on the site of former slave quarters followed by a stroll though the streets. If you’re up for it, why not try some genuine Cachaça straight from the sugar mill at Bar do Chifre! Then we’ll break for lunch.

Our next stop is Campina Grande, including the old reservoir and the forródromo (open-air festival grounds), where there are craft stores plus the National Cotton Research Centre, where colored cotton seeds have been developed using unique technology.
