Thrills,
chills and a photographer’s dream come true! Travel westward and climb
the foothills, heading along Squaw Pass, where you will see beautiful
flora and fauna. Our first stop is the historic lodge on Echo Lake for
coffee and many photo opportunities of some incomparable scenes.
Leap back in time while riding this 19th century narrow gauge railway
at over 9,000 ft. above sea level. Take a breathtaking descent down an
ancient canyon and equally exciting return trip! Then drive through the
historic silver mining Mecca of Georgetown where impressive Victorian
homes, buildings and unique shops still exist.Travel up Mount Evans
Lunch at Echo Lake Lodge
Ride on Georgetown Loop Railroad
From there, continue up Mount Evans (14,270 feet above sea level) along the highest paved road on the northern continent for more amazing views and wildlife sightings. Descend back to Echo Lake Lodge for a delicious lunch combined with beautiful mountain scenery.
After lunch head to Silver Plume to board the Georgetown Loop Railroad.
Weather / road conditions may cause route variations or cancellations at any time. If road conditions exist, Loveland Pass may be substituted for Mount Evans highway. Recommended to bring: camera, light jacket and water to avoid dehydration.
