By all means, see the Tate Modern on your London trip. But if you really love art, and hunger to check out what’s on the cutting edge, head over to London’s East End, where a vibrant art scene has been taking shape in a concentrated cluster over the past ten years.

At the renowned White Cube (48 Hoxton Square), you can see works by Damien Hirst during summer.
Victoria Miro's warehouse (16 Wharf Road) is another must-stop on your itinerary. Relative newcomer Store is at 27 Hoxton Street and is full of young artists. Finally, check out Maureen Paley (21 Herald Street), host to a continually changing line-up of art world stars-to-be. Remember that the gallery scene changes frequently, and many of the galleries are closed on Mondays.
