Check-in:

Most airports have their estimated check-in times, usually passengers should arrive 2 hours before a domestic departure, 3 hour before an international departure. You can check here for more information.

Passengers can check-in at check-in kiosks, called "eService Centers", at selected airports. For the location of the kiosks, check here. In order to check-in using the "eService Centers," passengers must have a major credit card, Continental OnePass Elite frequent flier card or Northwest WorldPerks frequent flier card. Some state driving licenses with magnetic stripes on the back are accepted.

Cleveland, Ohio: Hopkins International Airport

Newark, New Jersey: Liberty International Airport

Frequent flier members:

Passengers can earn miles through the OnePass program on Continental as well as the following airlines: Aeromexico, AirEuropa, Alaska Airlines, Alitalia, American Eagle, British European flyBE, Cape Air, Continental Connection, Copa Airlines, Delta; Emirates, EVA Air, Hawaiian Airlines, Horizon Air, Island Air, Korean Air, Maersk Air, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, TAP Air Portugal, Northwest Airlines, Qantas, Virgin Atlantic.

Airport lounges:

Passengers can get access to all Continental Presidents Clubs and Northwest WorldClubs worlwide for a $375 annual membership fee (plus a $50 one-time initiation fee). Amenities at all lounges include free beverages, light snacks, complimentary bar service, and telephones with data ports. Free wireless internet service offered at all President Clubs (except Chicago).

Carry-on rules:

Passengers are allowed one piece of carry-on luggage and one personal item on board. The piece of luggage cannot weigh more than 40 pounds or be longer than 51 linear  (length + weight + height) inches. Other rules may apply.

Meal options:

A snack is offered on flights between 1 hour and 1 hour and a half long, meals may be offered on flights longer than 2 hours. Special meals are offered only on some international flights and must be requested 24 hours prior to departure.

Children:

Children under 5 years old cannot fly unaccompanied. Children ages 5-7 can fly unaccompanied but only on nonstop or direct flights. Children ages 8-14 can fly unaccompanied on nonstop, direct, and connecting flights. There is a one-way fee of $50 for domestic nonstop flights, $75 for domestic connecting flights, $60 for international nonstop flights, and $90 international domestic flights.

Pet policy:

Small cats, dogs, rabbits, and domestic birds are accepted in the cabin on all domestic flights (except to and from Hawaii) for a service charge of $80 one way ($160 round trip). Other restrictions can apply.

Pets can also travel through QUICKPACK, Continental's cargo service offering same-day airport to airport service. OnePass members can gain miles with the PetPass program.

Other amenities:

Continental offers code-sharing with Amtrak at Newark Liberty International Airport. This means that passengers can make just one reservation for both air and rail. Amtrak's station at Newark offers connections throughout the Northeast to cities such as Philadelphia; Wilmington, Delaware; Boston; Washington, DC; and New Haven, Connecticut.
