Check-in pointers

Travelers must be at the airline counter at least two hours before departure to guarantee their reservation and seat assignment. Executive-class passengers must be there one hour in advance.

Frequent-flier program

Passengers can earn miles through the OnePass program with trips on Copa, Continental and the following carriers: AirEuropa, Alaska Airlines, American Eagle, Azteca, British European flyBE, Cape Air, Continental Connection, Delta Airlines, Emirates, EVA Air, Hawaiian Airlines, Horizon Air, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Northwest Airlines, QANTAS, TAP Air Portugal and Virgin Atlantic.

Membership is canceled and miles are forfeited if no mileage is deposited in an account for 18 consecutive months.

Airport club or lounge

Passengers can access more than 50 of Continental's Presidents Club and Northwest Airlines' WorldClubs lounges worldwide for a $375 annual membership fee (plus a $50 one-time initiation fee).

Executive class passengers also have access to all Presidents Club and affiliated VIP lounges worldwide.

Carry-on policy

All passengers are limited to one carry-on bag -- no more than 22 pounds (10 kg) or 46 linear inches (115 cm) -- and one personal item, such as a purse, briefcase or laptop.

In-flight meal options

Copa Airlines offers the following meal options: diabetic, low-calorie, low-cholesterol, low-sodium, strict vegetarian, lacto-ovo vegetarian, kosher, infant, kids and a fruit plate.

Unaccompanied children

Children ages 5 to 12 are allowed to travel unaccompanied by an adult. Service charges may apply. Parents or guardians of children ages 12-17 also can request this service.


Copa Airlines accepts cats and dogs as baggage. The transportation cost of the kennel is $50, and the animals are not included in the free baggage allowance.
