Archeologists unearth 4,000-year-old temple in Peru

Archeologists in Peru have unearthed a 4,000-year-old temple on the country's northern coast, making it one of the oldest discoveries of its kind in the Americas. Archeologist Walter Alva, discoverer of the Tombs of the Lords of Sipan, said the temple is located inside a larger complex in the Lambayeque Valley, 760 kilometres north of Lima, near the city of Chiclayo. The temple, named Ventarron by the team of scientists that uncovered it, includes murals and a staircase that leads up to an altar, likely used for fire worship.
Ventarron is unique because of its plethora of murals as well as its construction methods and design. Excavations are going on and visits to the site are not yet allowed. We shall keep you informed of new developments on this.

The Galapagos Islands are a group of twelve volcanic islands and numerous islets an rocks 650 miles off the Pacific coast of Ecuador. The area of the islands is 3,086 square miles. Only two are inhabited: Isabela, the largest of the group, and San Cristobal. Current estimated population in the islands is 20,000. Chile's wine region includes eight separate valleys, each with its own characteristics and wines. The Casablanca Valley is generally considered the finest producer of whites, principally Chardonnay but with a growing reputation for Sauvignon Blanc. The Maipo Valley, meanwhile, is Chile's most traditional wine region and producer of the country's finest Cabernets and Merlots. The wine and gourmet tours generally combine wine tastings with tours of historic haciendas and bodegas (wine cellars), some of which have been declared national monuments. Near Santiago, they make a great weekend escape or luxury vacation all on their own.

The world wide known Carioca Carnival has his high point at the parades at the Passarela do Samba known as the Sambódromo. Officially, Carnival is programmed to happen from Saturday to Holy Wednesday at mid day. The most important Carnival parade happens on Sunday and Monday, when the samba schools make their parade in one of the greatest shows in earth. The Carnival Balls are costume parties which start around 11 pm and goes all the way to 5 am or latter. The Street Parades are one of the most common aspects from this traditional party.

The TSA has recently made changes that allow for passengers to carry-on small amounts toiletries under certain conditions. To comply with the new rules, each of your toiletries must be 3oz or less (most drug stores have a section that features these smaller travel sizes) and you must place all the toiletries in a single quart-size zip-top bag.
