ADVENTURES AT THE RONCADOR WATERFALL AND PEDRA DA BOCA

Continuing on through the Araruna Mountain Range, we’ll
reach the Pedra da Boca State Park, where our adventure proceeds along
its outdoor trails. We’ll hike until discovering the caves of Pedra da
Caveira and Pedra do Forno, where you’ll have a chance to go abseiling
(rappelling).

After arriving at the meeting point, we begin our “plunge into nature” with a boat trip along the River Camaratuba within this natural mangrove reservation.
Soon afterwards, we return for lunch (optional), followed by a Land
Rover trip and river raft trip, crossing into the indigenous
reservation, where we’ll visit three villages, the fort of Baía da
Traição and the Kunumi hut. We’ll stop to browse and purchase crafts,
then finish our day with a dip in the lake.

BEACHES OF THE NORTHERN COAST AND CABEDELO

Following the seafront along the beaches of Tambaú, Manaíra and Bessa,
the excursion arrives at Intermares, stopping to visit a sea turtle
nesting area where this endangered species attempts to reverse the
cycle.Proceeding along the coastline, we’ll pass the beaches of Camboinha and Formosa, reaching the port town of Cabedelo where we’ll explore the Colonial Fortress of Santa Catarina. This strategically positioned fortification was the city’s primary defense against the Dutch who threatened the Portuguese rule of Brazil. Views from the walls offer postcard views of the ocean and beaches. We’ll also see the official starting point of the Trans-Amazon Highway.
The return journey includes a stop for lunch (not included), with free
time for sea bathing. Don’t miss your chance to try the region’s wide
variety of freshly caught seafood dishes.

naturalist beach in Northeast Brazil, considered one of the ten most
beautiful in the country. Wander among the tide pools at low tide and

The excursion proceeds to the historical district of Brazil’s third
oldest city including the São Francisco area Parque Solon de Lucena,
João Pessoa’s “picture postcard” “The Square of The Three Powers” The
Cathedral, The Monastery of São Bento and The Church of Nossa Senhora
do Carmo. On the way back we’ll even stop at the Paraíba Craft Market
to view the local’s beautiful creations and maybe even pick up a
souvenir.

THE MYSTERIOUS ROCKS OF PARAIBA (OLD CARIRI)

We
depart for the the town of Ingá, home to the enigmatic Itacoatiara rock
engravings and a museum containing fossils of giant prehistoric animals
that once called the region home. The tour proceeds to Cabaceiras, a
traditional town typical of the Cariri region, with houses dating from
the end of the 19th century, and chosen as the setting for the recent
film, “O Auto da Compadecida.”
Following an optional lunch and short rest at the farm of Pai Mateus,
we’ll visit the Saca de Lã and Pai Mateus outcropping, with its rock
paintings and exotic, mystical stone formations, among which the Pedra
do Capacete (Helmet Rock) is the most spectacular.
