This is an unusual and unique walking tour which gives the visitor a feeling for the legends and stories woven around the narrow streets and old historical buildings of downtown Rio.

The walk includes a visit to many interesting points, such as the São Bento Monastery, Candelaria (the candle-makers), Praça XV, the "Travessa do Mercado", Imperial Palace, the cultural centre located in the beautifully-restored Banco do Brasil, the Casa França-Brasil, Ouvidor (the listeners) Street and Gonçalves Dias Street with the traditional Colombo Coffee Shop.

The walk continues on down Uruguaiana Street, Carioca Square up to the Metropolitan Cathedral where passengers will meet the transportation that will take them back to their hotels.

On January 1st 1502, a Portuguese squad, commanded by Andre Gonçalves, discovered the Guanabara Bay and, judging to be a great river, and being January he gave it the name of Rio de Janeiro. It is the largest bay of the world in volume of water, it has several islands, as the Governor’s island, Fundão and Snakes island.

Appreciate Rio from the sea, its historical buildings and the forts that protected the Guanabara Bay.

Built by the Portuguese in 1555, see the Bay from a very special angle. We will sail to see the most beautiful landscape of Rio. It is the largest bay of the world in volume of water, it has several islands, as the Governor’s island, Fundão and Snakes island. In the west margin we see Rio de Janeiro, and East the municipal district of Niteroi. A city vision is discovered as we leave " Marina DA Gloria " by Saveiro, neighborhoods of Botafogo, Flamengo, Urca, Sugar Loaf, Fort São Joao, Flagstone Island, Santa Cruz Fortress, and Rio- Niteroi Bridge.

Enter the Tijuca Rain Forest on a open jeep where is possible to see the contrast between the "Stone jungle and a tropical forest in the middle of a big city." We pass by the "Cachoeira dos macacos" (monkey’s waterfall) At "Vista Chinesa" (chinese view) where you can take pictures, we explain the history of the reforestation process of that forest and the importance of the "Mata Atlântica" (Atlantic Forrest). We will also pass by "the Mesa do Imperador" (emperor’s table), Cascatinha (Taunay’s waterfall), and Capela Mayrink (Mayrink chapel).

Next, you will enjoy an approximate 1 hour hike through an easy trail where the botanical aspect is developed. Passengers will have direct contact with the local nature ecosystem. During this tour we will be able to see different types of tropical fruits, trees, animals like monkeys, various kind of birds and butterflies.

An amazing adventure, embarking at Marina da Gloria port, on a high-performance boat to the Cagarras Archipelago, in front of Ipanema’s famous beach.

You’ll enjoy sailing to the tunes of Brazilian music and watching the dazzling scenery on this adventure.

A tour on new bikes for about 3 hours around Rio’s most beautiful beaches with stops for pictures and a walking visit to the Botanical Garden. (Ticket for admission is not included). The tour is accompanied by guide and mechanical back up car. Helmets and tee shirts will be given to passengers.

 

After picking up the visitors from their hotels, the coach passes over the Rio-Niteroi bridge and on to Buzios.

Upon arrival in Buzios, the group is taken on a walk through the cobbled streets, full of quaint charm, made famous by Brigitte Bardot, French actress.

Buzios was a fishermen village, then became fashionable and sophisticated with 44 different nationalities among it’s residents, and has now 15 thousands habitants.

Lunch is not included.

Arriving by the end of the day, back in Rio, the visitors are dropped at their hotels.

With an archipelago of more than 300 islands and countless beaches, the town of Angra lies in the hart of this paradise, some 130 klm south of Rio.

This spectacular view, winds over mountainous terrain covered in lush Atlantic rain forest. Graceful coves and sandy beaches, little islands and crystal clear water make the journey a memorable occasion.

The town of Angra dos Reis has been continuously settle since the early 1500s. There are many lovely old buildings from the colonial past when the town was a great port and agricultural center. A saveiro schooner waits at the dock to take visitors on a cruise of those many islands, stopping for a swim in the enticing turquoise blue waters. Then a delicious lunch of hot and cold self-service buffet will be served.

From their hotels, passengers are taken to what is globally known as "Maracana"-the Mario Filho Stadium (the largest in the world) - to enjoy the electric atmosphere of a Brazilian Futbol match.

Seating is individual, under cover (ticket is included) and our guide is always in attendance.

After the game, passengers are returned to their hotels.
