Ecuador is Divided in 4 geographical regions: in the Coast the splendour of its beach vacations awaits you; the "Avenue of the Volcanoes" in the Andes mountain range; the emerald rain forest in the Amazon river basin and the enchanting Galapagos Island wildlife.
From Quito the capital city, your entrance point for the rest of the country, your Latin Trails trip leader will show you the most enchanting cultural highlights.
Close at hand is the "cinnamon route" to the Amazon rainforest, which you can drive into descending from the high Andes into the tropical lowlands.
If you prefer a beach vacation just head west into the Pacific lowlands, also just a few hours from Quito. From the coast you can decide to relax on the sandy beaches and bathe in the ware equatorial waters or head for and amazing expedition into the choco rainforest and stay at a lodge, a true hot spot on earth.
Of course the beautiful towns and artisan communities in the Andes are an important cultural attraction, you can visit indian markets and the homes of weavers, woodcarvers and other folk artists. Mountain climbers will find paradise, Andes mountains are amongst the most beautiful and are relatively easy to climb, amongst the most popular are Cotopaxi, the worlds tallest active volcano and Chimborazo, the countries highest peak.

We will visit the Cajas National Park, composed of more than 200 lagoons. We will also make a hike through a primary forest where we can admire the variety of flora and fauna as well as the ecosystem.
Lunch is included. Entrance to the National Park is not included.

From here we can take a panoramic view of Guayaquil and the Guayas River. Then we will take a boat to visit a famous historical park, which is an attraction that recreates the Guayaquil of the past, with its personages, traditions and architecture.
Duration: 5 HOURS
The next day, breakfast will be served and departure to the train station from Riobamba to the "Devil’s Nose", a magnificent work incrusted in the Andes. (Trip is approx 7 hours.) Box lunch is included. Return to Quito in the afternoon.
